Rob's Story

It all began back in 1999 when we moved into our newly constructed home, celebrating the arrival of our first child. The initial joy was soon overshadowed by a series of health issues. Our newborn son began suffering from chronic colds and ear infections, while my wife experienced recurring sinus infections, and I battled persistent upper respiratory problems.

The medical advice we received was rather limited, with antibiotics being the primary prescription. Our immune systems were so compromised that a simple encounter with someone carrying a cold would send us running back to the doctor's office for yet another round of medication. We were emotionally drained, deeply concerned for our son's well-being, and desperately seeking a path to renewed health.

In the second year of our health struggles, my wife found herself on her fifth consecutive course of antibiotics, a staggering 50 days battling yet another sinus infection. Then, through what can only be described as sheer serendipity, I stumbled upon an unusual sight – mold quietly thriving along the base of our vinyl-framed windows, tucked away between the frame and the glass. While it was not overtly noticeable, its presence was undeniable. I took immediate action, meticulously cleaning all affected areas, and just three days later, my wife began to recover her health.

That life-altering discovery occurred two decades ago, and we have been blessed with good health ever since. What started as a challenging ordeal became a profound turning point, ultimately leading to the creation of Air Quality Solutions.

Before embarking on this journey, my professional background was centered on hazardous waste removal in various sectors, including the nuclear industry, as well as soil and groundwater testing. Over the past 18 years, my work in disaster recovery encompassed mold remediation, along with fire and flood restoration. This diverse experience has expanded my knowledge in the realm of air quality issues and building science.

Today, Air Quality Solutions stands as a culmination of my personal odyssey, property damage restoration, mold remediation, and now, mold testing and consulting. We hold full certification from the ACAC, specializing in delivering essential guidance and education, helping individuals reclaim their lives from the grip of mold and the perils of poor indoor air quality.
